Tap List | Pairing (Boo)zy Beers With Classic Halloween Films Hops and Horror Galore

What local beer should you drink while watching some of your favorite Halloween horror classics this weekend? We’re glad you asked. So we asked local beer enthusiast Cassie Niemeyer to offer some recommendations.
Sadly, some people don’t seem to care what they are drinking when watching movies. They mindlessly grab one of those light yellow low-alcohol fizzy drinks and turn on “Nightmare on Elm Street” like they are some sort of zombie.
Well, your friends at Flatland like to think we have more refined taste in beer, and in movies. So we’ve conjured up a few Tap List recommendations for your fright night viewing pleasure:
- SHOCK by Crane Brewing Co.
- Bamburgh’s Castle Ale by Black Stag Brewery
- The Witch by Torn Label Brewing Co.
Folks brave enough to venture out this weekend might consider The Screenland Armour Theatre, which is screening two safe and socially distant outdoor double-feature Halloween movie events. A film Niemeyer recommends may or may not be showing, and a couple of the beers may be there as well.
And speaking of horror films, don’t forget to watch this week’s Art House Extra on “The Stylist,” a horror film directed by Kansas City’s own, Jill Gevargizian.
