Spark Kansas City, the Cordish Companies long-planned co-working space at the Two Light apartment building, will be opening Aug. 17.

The 15,000 square-foot, two-level space located at the southwest corner of Two Light at Truman Road and Walnut will be the latest addition to the co-working office scene downtown. The Spark KC plan was first announced in early 2018.

“Our vision for Spark Coworking is to provide the local entrepreneurial community in underrepresented cities an affordable, appealing, flexible way to locate and grow their businesses,” Shervonne Cherry, director of Community & Partnerships for Spark Coworking, said in a statement.

Spark KC will be available to residents of Two Light as well as other people seeking co-working space, Nick Benjamin, Cordish Cos. vice president of development, said in a release.

“Spark will be an ideal collaborative workspace for our Two Light residents, the Power & Light District and the entire Kansas City entrepreneurial community,” he said in a statement.

Spark KC will be located at the corner of Walnut and Truman Road.

Amenities will include: 24/7 swipe card access; wi-fi access; reserved AV-equipped meeting rooms; shared kitchen and lounge spaces; nitro coffee and tea bar; craft beer and wine member happy hours; unlimited access to printers, and an on-site mother’s room and wellness space.

“Spark will become a catalyst for advancing Kansas City’s thriving entrepreneur ecosystem through creative space and community,” said in a statement.

Spark KC will join what’s become one of the more booming aspects of the downtown office market, co-working space.

Plexpod has two co-working operations in the Crossroads and River Market, and national giant WeWork has large operations in Corrigan Station and the lightwell office building, formerly City Center Square.
