The votes are in, and the winner has been selected. We’re talking about our curiousKC kids voting round – a first for KCPT Kids and Flatland.
For this last round, we selected four standout questions from nearly two dozen submitted by a third-grade class at Apache Innovative Elementary School in Overland Park, Kansas. The voting round was a hit – getting more than 100 votes.
In the end, “Who lived in the Kansas City Museum?” edged out “How many animals are at the Kansas City Zoo?” So, we will be looking into the residential history of the city museum, located the Historic Northeast area of town.
Here are the number of votes each question earned in the course of a month:
- Why is our nickname the bread basket? (18)
- How many toys does the Museum of Toys and miniatures have? (30)
- Who lived in the Kansas City Museum? (49)
- How many animals are at the Kansas City Zoo? (46)
