ABORTION AMENDMENT COULD BE AXED FROM THE MO BALLOT

A public vote on abortion in Missouri is now in danger of being kicked off the November ballot.

A judge ruled Friday that the proposed amendment, which was placed on the ballot after 380,000 Missourians signed a petition, violates state law because it fails to mention what other sections of the Missouri constitution would be repealed if it passes. That includes a statewide ban on some forms of stem cell research.

With the stakes so high, the Missouri Supreme Court has now agreed to hear the case.

Oral arguments will begin Tuesday morning. But the justices must act swiftly. Tuesday is the state deadline to finalize ballot questions for the November election.

On Tuesday, Vice-President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump will meet for what is likely to be their only debate before Election Day.

The two leading candidates for president will appear on stage at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia for a 90-minute exchange hosted by ABC News.

The debate will follow the same rules as a CNN debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump back in June. There’ll be no audience, and the candidate’s microphones will be muted when it’s not their turn to speak.

You can watch the debate live on Kansas City PBS, starting at 8 pm.

Some conservative lawmakers are refusing to support any budget measure unless it’s tied to legislation requiring proof of citizenship to vote.
  • NEW IPHONE REVEAL: If you’re one of those people who must own the latest tech gadgets, Apple has a big announcement for you this week.
