If you’re searching for a little hope, perhaps even a little inspiration in these dark days, you’ve come to the right place.
“Bobbi Jo: Under the Influence” tells the riveting tale of Bobbi Jo Reed, who emerged from a hellish 22-year journey of alcohol and drug abuse to found Healing House in Kansas City. Healing House is a nonprofit agency founded in 2003 to provide transitional housing and support for people who have completed inpatient substance abuse treatment.
“This is a movie about one woman that has affected thousands and thousands,’’ says Donna Jones, who produced and directed the film with her husband, Brent. “It is an absolute groundswell of positivity, hope, faith, love, all of that.”
At the core of the movie is Reed, who through some alchemy of the human soul has turned an abyss of darkness into brilliant light. She treasures her new life for the simplest of reasons: “I get to live my purpose.”
