If you want to escape this time and place this weekend, “Time Bandits” just might be the ticket.
Film junkies routinely tout director Terry Gilliam’s fantastical movies, which often explore themes of imagination and anti-authoritarianism. For Kansas City-area filmmaker Anthony Ladesich, though, “Time Bandits” is the one he comes back to the most.
“I absolutely adore Terry Gilliam and his ability to create worlds,” Ladesich says.
Fans of the Monty Python comedy troupe, which counted Gilliam among its members, will feel right at home with this movie.
“It’s really, really funny. It’s incredibly inventive,” Ladesich says. “And it gives back. Every single time you watch it you catch something new.”
