Downtown Dazzle Heats Up in December with Urban Homes Tour and Streetcar Concerts
November 29, 2017 | Kevin Collison | 3 min read
Anyone interested in checking out the downtown housing market will have an opportunity Dec. 9 as part of the ongoing Downtown Dazzle holiday festivities.
The free Urban Homes Tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 20 residential buildings will be open for touring throughout greater downtown from Union Hill to the River Market. Participants are encouraged to register for the event at www.DazzleKC.com, but it’s not necessary to sign up.
Among the properties on the tour are the newly-opened East 9 at Pickwick Plaza, the Apex and Summit on Quality Hill and the Atlas Lofts. New projects in the works include Two Light and The New Yorker.
Downtown is seeing a boom in apartment construction as many people, particularly empty nesters and young adults, see a more walkable environment.
Visitors are encouraged to ride the Kansas City Streetcar to the residential properties on the tour.
And as a bonus later in the afternoon, the streetcar will be featuring American Slim performing his alternative rock from 4- to 6 p.m. as part of its ongoing Downtown Dazzle musical series that begins this Saturday and rolls through Dec. 22.

The Kansas City Streetcar will feature live music beginning Saturday through Dec. 22 as part of Downtown Dazzle.
The streetcar authority is hosting nine live musical performances in December on board the streetcars and at streetcar stops as part of Downtown Dazzle. Music will range from traditional holiday music, covers and original music performed by local artists.
As for the Urban Homes Tour, participants can get guidebooks and maps for the residences beginning at 10 a.m. at the Visit KC office, 1321 Baltimore Ave.
Guidebook holders who visit six or more properties will be eligible to win a stay-cation package that includes a one-night stay at One Light Luxury Apartments in the luxury guest suite, plus gift cards for area restaurants and entertainment.
