As many beer connoisseurs know, collaborations are ubiquitous in the world of beer.

This is especially true in Kansas City, where Boulevard Brewing Co. collaborated with Modern Times to give us Restless Nights (7.5% ABV), a delicious bourbon barrel-aged coffee porter, and where BKS Artisan Ales collaborated with Oddly Correct to give us Holstein, the now mythical milk stout brewed with artisanal coffee beans.

The upcoming collaboration between Wind Shift Brewing and The Big Rip Brewing Company should be on every beer lovers radar.

Word on the street is that the legendary chef Rick Mullins hand-picked spruce and pine from Prairie Birthday Farm, and then left it in the trusty hands of Bri Burrows from The Big Rip Brewing Company and Tony DiPlacito from Wind Shift Brewing. Together, they created Stay Ahead of the Wind (8.6% ABV), a delicious farmhouse ale with a kick of spruce available in draft and 12-ounce cans to-go on August 25th. Mark your calendars!

In another collaboration, Kansas City will see the world of craft beer collide with the world of yacht rock. Yes, you read that correctly. Yacht rock. Trust me. This will make A LOT more sense when you get to the beer events below.
