Ever wonder how to make a Christmas movie in the middle of a Kansas City summer? You’ve come to the right place.

Rather than sit out the COVID-19 pandemic, Kansas City filmmakers Sandra Martin and Isaac Alongi conjured up a holiday movie. A few short months later, “My Sweet Holiday” is slated to premiere at 7 p.m. on Christmas Day on the Lifetime Channel.

“We’re both from Kansas City, so this is a great place for us,” Martin says. “We love working from home.”

Locals with a sweet tooth will be pleased to see Annedore’s Fine Chocolates in Westwood serve as the hub of events in the romantic Christmas movie.

Folks who are curious to learn a few things about how to make a holiday movie during a blazing Kansas City summer are welcome to watch the attached video.

Hint: It’s not easy.

“We’d really like to do a Christmas movie in the winter,” Martin says with a laugh.
