Do you see what I see?

Kansas City filmmaker Chris Durr suspects not. That’s why he directed “Don’t Look Away,” a new short film that explores the conflict of perception of self versus the perception of others in these trying times.

“What I wanted to do with this film was confront White people, specifically White people, with the experience of seeing yourself with beauty and love, and being seen with prejudice,” Durr says.

Kansas City-based actor, model and dancer Bobby Jackson is, quite literally, the embodiment of the film, expressing its themes and emotions through his movements in a variety of environments.

“Anybody who watches this film will be able to feel something that is going to be strong and that is going to ignite a spark,” Jackson says. “It might not change the whole world, but it will spark something that will make a change… one person at a time.”

Is this film art activism? In a word, yes. Don’t look away. Check out the attached video.
