There’s an opportunity in every crisis, if you care to look.

The in-person modeling industry, which is collaborative by definition, has come to a virtual standstill. But for fashion model and artist Vincent Sung, adjusting to the ongoing pandemic led to the serendipitous discovery of a whole new visual style.

“People are adapting,” Sung says. “There are actually clients who are wanting models to submit their videos and they will use it commercial as is — kind of like a COVID-style type promotion.”

While the prospect walking at a fashion show in a packed ballroom may seem “surreal” at the moment, Sung is embracing the new normal and learning new things in the process.

“I want everyone to try to focus on the positive,” he says. “Hopefully we can learn from this, and keep it with us even after this is over.”
