The Latinx and Hispanic footprint is clear across the Kansas City metro area.
One Kansas City man once observed, “If you’re looking for the Latinos, follow the railroad tracks.” Sure enough, that was true.
But the richness of the community’s story sprawls across town and across time. So, as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’ve rounded up stories of people, history and impact the Latinx and Hispanic communities have made on the area.
