Has there ever been a time when diabetes was more in the news?
As America confronts the spread of the coronavirus, there is heightened attention on those being hardest hit, particularly people with preexisting conditions.
Diabetics are among those most at risk.
Tonight at 8 p.m. KCPT is premiering “Diabetes in KC,” a half-hour special that follows up on some of the issues raised in “Blood Sugar Rising,” a PBS documentary on the diabetes epidemic.
KCPT’s show will examine more closely how diabetes is affecting Kansas City with some of the area’s leading health care providers, advocates and patients. The attached video is an excerpt from tonight’s special that discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
