Sinkers Lounge is finally out of the Covid rough and plans to tee off this fall in the Power & Light District next door to its companion venue, Blade & Timber.
The new upscale indoor mini-golf concept had been scheduled to open last summer at 53 W. 13th St. but the pandemic got in the way.
Now Matt Baysinger, owner of Swell Spark, plans to have people swinging putters through a creative nine-hole course by Thanksgiving at the latest.
“This will be an elevated mini-golf experience,” he said. “It will be artistically inspired. You’ll have as much fun taking pictures as playing golf.”
To go along with the golf, Sinkers plans to offer what Baysinger described as an “incredible cocktail and food program.”
His firm, Swell Spark, has a knack for creating active adult entertainment options. In addition to Blade & Timber, the firm also runs Breakout Kansas City.
“We’re excited to see folks coming back,” he said. “People are going back inside and I’m glad to see them coming to Blade & Timber.”
Sinkers is an updated twist on the mini-golf of Baysinger’s childhood days and he said similar entertainment venues have been a hit in London the past few years.
Sinkers also will feature nine holes of table top golf.
While the new venue will be focused on adults in the evening, kids and their families will be welcome during the day. Exact hours have yet to be set.
