Take Note: Education Series Returns with a Focus on the Future

June 7, 2018  |  Cody Boston, Kelly Cordingley  |  1 min read

In the Kansas City region, the story of education has many chapters. And with the publication of this video, Flatland picks up that story again through the Take Note project we launched last year.

We will build on many of the themes we explored through our initial content, including health, safety and school choice. Our storytelling will continue through next spring.

Using a “school of the future” lens, we will ask students, school leaders and parents what school should look like 10, 20 or 50 years from now, and what that means for future generations of students.

We’ll ponder questions like, What does the classroom of the future look like? How will we protect our students in the school of the future? and How will we measure success?

Look here on Flatland for reporting, videos and developments from public engagement — like when our Take Note team talks to students and parents at Maker Faire Kansas City, which runs June 23-24 at Union Station — and follow the project on social channels through #TakeNoteKC.

As we note in this kick-off video, “There are big questions — huge questions.” Together, hopefully, we can start to craft some answers.
