Here’s a heady mix.

Combine the Kansas-inspired poetry of Allen Ginsberg, the music of Philip Glass, the voice of Ethan Hawke and the evocative grace of the Ballet Street Project. What do you get?

This remarkably moving video.

“KC Performs,” a program developed by Kansas City PBS during the pandemic to help close the gap between performer and audience, has returned for a second season. In the coming weeks, Flatland will share segments from the program such as the Ballet Street Project’s interpretation of Ginsberg’s “Wichita Vortex Sutra,” a cry of pain from the heartland written during the Vietnam War.

Just watch the attached video, and try not to be moved.
