For the past two years, hospital systems have been dealt blow after blow.
Overwhelmed with challenges — such as the influx of COVID-19 patients, not enough equipment or staffing shortages — the health care industry is in a state of crisis. Every part of the system that’s there to keep communities healthy — public health, mental health, long-term care centers and more — are struggling.
That’s why Flatland’s focus in March is on the health of the health care industry. By taking a closer look at the struggles of a health care system buffeted by a crisis, our reports will help us understand what is needed and how communities can begin to heal.
No question is off the table. We’ve reported on health-related topics such as physicians’ mental health, senior care centers, vaccine researchers and more. Scroll through to read stories by Flatland and KC Media Collaborative partners here.
