Flatland + KC Media Collective

At Flatland we seek to tell important, untold stories and give voice to otherwise unheard people in our community. We can best do that when we work together.

Flatland is proud to take part in a new collaborative initiative involving a group of local, nonprofit media organizations designed to support and enhance local journalism. The KC Media Collective is designed to strengthen the local news ecosystem by opening lines of communication among six organizations located in the Kansas City region.

Members of the KC Media Collective are:

• Kansas City PBS/Flatland
• KCUR
• Missouri Business Alert
• Startland News
• The Beacon

Aligning resources to lift each other up, each outlet brings a diversity of reporting resources and audiences to help build a vibrant local network of excellence in reporting. The ultimate goal of the KC Media Collective is to maximize existing resources through content sharing and collaborative reporting.
