Grab a chocolate bar and head over to Gladstone’s Theatre in the Park’s presentation of Willy Wonka. The free outdoor show is at the Gladstone Amphitheatre (NE 76th Street and N Troost, Gladstone, Missouri) this weekend and it runs through Sunday. The curtain goes up at 8:30 p.m. nightly.

The only way to keep your inner core at a safe temperature is lots and lots of ice cream. Kick off that journey with a dip cone, soft serve vanilla ice cream enrobed in a chocolate shell, at Tropical Sno (222 W 85th Street) in Waldo. You can also get that same ice cream with heaps of shaved ice.

Find out exactly how the teddy bears have their picnic. The Kansas City Museum (3218 Gladstone Boulevard) is hosting a lawn party for Teddy Bear Picnic Day today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pack a picnic, a blanket, and enjoy some live music and crafts.

Don’t feel like packing your lunch? The Alexander Majors Barn (8201 State Line Road) is hosting Food Truck Friday during lunch today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. KC Pinoy, The Waffler, and Taste of Brazil will be onsite. You can dine on picnic tables outdoors or in the air-conditioned barn. You could also hit up the Merriam Marketplace (5740 Merriam Drive, Merriam, Kansas) for Thank Goodness it’s Food Truck Friday. TGIFF runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and features Marigold’s, CoffeeCake KC, and Fresh & Tasty Catering.

In new food truck news, keep an eye out for a tiny trailer named Ash & Bleu. It’s grilled cheese with a tasty twist — the bread is locally sourced and the cheese is Midwestern-focused. They’ve got cheese plates and grilled cheeses. Start with anything featuring Beatje Farms’ goat cheese.

Find your inner Sherlock Holmes and head over to North Kansas City this Saturday. The Northland Young Professionals are hosting a free Scavenger Hunt from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. that will be stopping at (in order) Colony, Tapcade NKC, Cinder Block Brewery, and Chicken N Pickle.
