curiousKC | What Stories Do You Want to See About Health Care?

February 21, 2022  |  Vicky Diaz-Camacho  |  2 min read

For the past two years, hospital systems have been dealt blow after blow.

Overwhelmed with challenges — such as the influx of COVID-19 patients, not enough equipment or staffing shortages — the health care industry is in a state of crisis. Every part of the system that’s there to keep communities healthy — public health, mental health, long-term care centers and more — are struggling.

That’s why Flatland’s focus in March is on the health of the health care industry. By taking a closer look at the struggles of a health care system buffeted by a crisis, our reports will help us understand what is needed and how communities can begin to heal.

No question is off the table. We’ve reported on health-related topics such as physicians’ mental health, senior care centers, vaccine researchers and more. Scroll through to read stories by Flatland and KC Media Collaborative partners here.

Care enough to share? Write to the team in the form below. Each question goes straight to our team of journalists and will be considered as part of our reporting for the next episode. If you have a tip or are an expert who’d like to contribute to the conversation, write to Vicky Diaz-Camacho, vdiaz-camacho@kansascitypbs.org.
