Our photography series, “The Art of (KC),” brings you beautiful, thought-provoking and compelling images of what makes our city tick.

This week, we’re taking a peek at Open Spaces, Kansas City’s new arts experience that brings local, national and international art of mediums together throughout the city from Aug. 25 through Oct. 28. From music to sculpture to printmaking and virtually everything else you can imagine, Open Spaces highlights both the obscure and the mainstream.

Draped Form by Jacob Burmood: Swope Park. (Brad Austin | Flatland)

Fractured Horizons by Carlie Trosclair: Westwood Park. (Brad Austin | Flatland)

Resonator by Nevin Aladağ: American Jazz Museum Gallery. (Brad Austin | Flatland)

Wingin' It by Kathy Butterly: Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. (Brad Austin | Flatland)

We invite you to get out your phone, your camera, your sketchbook — whatever — and let us see your POV.
