Cupcakin Bakery, known for combining creative cupcakes and sweets with children’s birthday parties, is opening a location at Crown Center Friday.

The bakery will be on Level 1 at the Crown Center Shops and will offer cupcakes, cookies, cotton candy, ice cream, milkshakes and other beverages, according to a press release.

Specialities include a Strawberry Lemonade Cupcake and a Fluffy Cone made with cotton candy.

This is the second location for Cupcakin, which is owned and operated by Erica Harris.

Birthday party themes include Princess Tea Party, Princess Spa, a Slime Party and a Cake Decorating Party. Kids are provided treats, activities and supervised playtime at parties.

“We make birthday parties easy, so it’s less work for the parents and more fun for the kids,” Harris said in a statement.

The first Cupcakin opened at 2311 E. 12th St. in 2015. It’s also done pop-up locations previously in the Oak Park Mall and Country Club Plaza.

For Crown Center, Harris said the bakery will feature a ballerina pink floor.

“Our biggest focus is on catering to families and children, and Crown Center is so family oriented,” Harris said. “This is a great spot for us.”

Hours will be Sundays from noon to 5 p.m., and Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
