Free live music and movies return to Crown Center Square when the annual WeekEnder  event kicks off this Friday with the Damien Gunn band and Jungle Cruise.

Throughout July, local bands and classic movies will be featured along with food and drink beginning at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend for what’s described as a family-friendly event.

The music starts at 6 p.m. and the movies generally begin around 9 p.m. There’s free parking in the Crown Center garage after 6 p.m. Blankets and lawn chairs are allowed for seating. No pets are permitted.

Crown Center’s Burnt End BBQ will provide a food and beverage tent, and different food trucks will be parked on Crown Center Square each week. Alcoholic beverages may not
be brought in but will be available for purchase.

The rest of the July lineup:

–July 15, The KC All Stars; Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

–July 22, Retroactive; A League of Their Own

–July 29, The Accidental Moguls; Guardians of the Galaxy
