Houseless In Kansas City

Episode 2

Over the last year and a half, efforts to end homelessness have accelerated in Kansas City. Emergency shelter interventions saved the lives of many but resulted in relatively few long term solutions. Service providers and city officials turn their efforts towards long-term housing option and the houseless community wait anxiously as winter returns.

Host D. Rashaan Gilmore invites City Manage Brian Platt, Director of Greater Kansas City Coalition to End Homelessness Marqueia Watson, formerly houseless program advisor at Lotus Care House Jamal Collier and Director of Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope Myranda Agnew to discuss the missing pieces to ending homelessness.
